Company History
Since 1973, Armstrong Consultants has been providing complete airport engineering and planning services in eight western states from our office in Grand Junction, CO. With a staff of 30 employees dedicated exclusively to airport projects we provide a competitive, and typically higher, level of services than the aviation divisions of national multi-disciplined firms. Each member of our staff has extensive experience in planning, design and construction with both general aviation and commercial service airports. Our entire practice, including design standards, specification libraries, drafting systems, geotechnical lab and project management approach is set up for completing airport development projects in accordance with the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) guidelines. Our excellent working relationships with the Federal Aviation Administration and the various State Aviation Departments assist us in guiding your project through the entire process from grant preparation to construction completion.
Direct Involvement
Our principals maintain close contact with the client and are directly involved in the review process, including reports, drawings and correspondence. Our President, Keith Koler personally reviews and ensures the quality of all project deliverables. Dennis Corsi, our Vice President, serves as the project manager for all planning projects. Our core management team takes professional responsibility for planning, design, cost controls and project oversight, insuring delivery… and not just a promise… of superior customer service.
Exclusive Work on Airport Projects
We dedicate our resources exclusively to clients and their airport projects. With our level of expertise and focus on only airport projects we have streamlined our project process, concentrating on cost efficiency and quality control. Our firm has an excellent history of projects completed on time and on budget.
Because Armstrong Consultants, Inc. is entirely airport driven we provide a number of services others cannot including: grant writing, engineering, environmental studies, planning, drafting and construction period services. We provide virtually every service related to airport construction and development.
Emphasis on Communication
We recognize ongoing communication is essential to ensure a successful project. After receiving a project award, an initial scoping meeting takes place on site. This meeting is attended by our staff, FAA representatives and the State Aviation Division. It is invaluable in determining immediate and long range goals for the Airport and community that supports it.
Throughout the project, we will provide airport officials and the community with updates on the current status of project funding, design and construction. Our client services managers maintain regular contact with funding officials to ensure funding applications are current, accurate and reflect the Airport Sponsor’s highest priorities.
Affirmative Action Policy
Armstrong Consultants has employed qualified minorities since our inception in 1973. As a policy of nondiscrimination in employment, we do not and will not discriminate because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, mental or physical handicap, political affiliation or marital status. We are familiar with DBE requirements associated with Federal grants and have always complied with the regulations relative to nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs of the Department of Transportation Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 26 as amended.
Quality of Projects
As mentioned earlier, Armstrong Consultants works very hard to ensure the quality of our projects. During the construction process we have a full-time Resident Inspector to ensure these controls and provide full-time liaison for the Sponsor, contractor and our office. Every drawing or document is reviewed by the experienced principals of our firm. By paying close attention to details, we ensure the construction process goes smoothly. We have an excellent quality and cost control history.
