Ken has experience in a variety of airport lines of business to include airport communications, airport operations and public safety, managing airport hangars at both a small hub and general aviation airport and as a general aviation airport director. As an 18 year old, Ken began his first aviation job as an air traffic controller (ATC) in the US Army. Ken’s opportunity in civilian ATC was a result of the PATCO strike against the FAA. Ken was hired as a controller at Reno tower and terminal radar approach control (TRACON) in 1982. His FAA career spanned 27 years included working at Denver Stapleton TRACON. Retiring from the FAA in 2009, Ken was hired by Washington Consulting Group and spent a year in Iraq supporting military operations and opening of Iraqi airspace and the re-introduction of civilian commercial aviation. Ken’s responsibilities included training Iraqi nationals at the Baghdad International Airport Tower and enroute center.
